What is Wireless? Wireless internet is a broadband, always-on system that doesn’t require use of phone lines. Wireless internet is just that - "wireless." It is transmitted through the air from one of our towers to a position that is in line of site on your property. It then is captured by what is known as CPE (client premises equipment) and brought into your business or residential environment via a single Cat5E network cable, The Cat5E network cable is less than the diameter of a pencil and can transfer data at 100Mbps. What does "line of sight" (LOS) mean? Line of sight means that you can physically see from your antenna (CPE) to one of our towers. Very often distance from the tower makes it impossible to see due to haze or other atmospheric conditions. The further from one of our towers you live, generally the more difficult it is to achieve Line Of Sight. The things that would inhibit LOS are trees & large buildings. To see if LOS can be achieved at your home or place of business check our Coverage Map. Please note, if your home or business is not within the coverage map, it does NOT mean that we can’t provide the service, but it does mean that we may have to design a custom solution (at extra cost) that will work. Do I have to purchase LaSilki CPE? Yes, Corporate Service requires purchase of dedicated LaSilki CPE. This is the only way that we can guarantee the quality of service and good performance. How many computers can share LaSilki Corporate Connection? LaSilki provides Internet Service based on bandwidth usage. You may share this connection with multiple computers in YOUR OWN BUSINESS. Please note that you are not allowed to resell LaSilki service to any third parties. Our system will limit the bandwidth available to you based on your Internet Plan, and therefore you can connect as many computers in your company as you wish. I would like to purchase LaSilki Internet Service, but I am concerned about my employees being able to access inappropriate sites. We share your concern, and because of that, our Internet Connection is filtered and controlled. We will constantly update the Filter to prevent access to inappropriate sites. You can also install a variety of software filters on your own PCs to stop access to certain types of sites. Our Company has a Head Office, 5 shops and a warehouse, and we would like to connect them all together. Only the Head Office needs an Internet Connection. How can LaSilki help us? What you need are two separate systems: A LaSilki Private Wireless Data Network (WLAN), and an Internet Connection. LaSilki can interconnect any of your offices within 40km from Basra, provided that there is a Line of Sight to one of our Towers. Once all the offices are connected, we can then connect the Head Office with Internet. Our Internet connection has a firewall, intrusion detection and prevention system and many other security features. We also have an advanced Authentication & Authorization system in place. For our Corporate Clients, we also offer additional VPN (Virtual Private Network) Service which provides full Data Encryption for Wireless Links. Our Premium and Platinum Corporate Services also include an additional layer of wireless security as we use special, proprietary systems to establish wireless connections for these services.
